About the painting:
sharing secrets, oil on linen, 2024: On a saturday morning, in the middle of daisyland, the girls decided that would be a good time to do our best (pink) festival makeup. So we all took our makeup bags, and headed over to the bathroom stall. “I saw this trick on tiktok that changed my whole makeup routine” “Do you have a small mirror I can use” “Oh that’s a good lip combo” “Is this foundation yours or mine?” We got caught by passerbyers a few times - “Oh it’s a session in here, I love it”. And in everyone that witnessed it, felt girlhood in its communion. Sharing secrets is to love.
My main goal with this newsletter is to inspire and encourage you to support Black artists. I'm passionate about this project and I'm doing it all on my own. Instead of having recurring subscriptions, if you could consider buying me a cup of coffee to show your support, that would be amazing! Thank you so much for all your help and support, it truly means the world to me.
Wouldn’t you love to run into a print of this in a cafe restroom? These daily art posts are such a pleasure, thank you!
